Pat, you're an idiot. (Not news to anyone.)

This is like a 2 year old and a ladder.

Putting a ladder against the side of your house and ecouraging a 2 year old is a bad idea.

But the socialists have done this, the child is at the top and the ladders is ready to fall.

The Libertarians say "There should never have been a ladder." Are they wrong? Obviously to pull the ladder down would be a disaster - now that the child is at the top.

The socialists say "whoa dude, like - we need to go rob the neighbors and build a scaffold to support the ladder and the child."

The Republicans say "Fix me another martini and bring it out to hole #6"

WHO is right? Should we steal from the neighbors and build a huge support structure for the ladder? Or should we ease the child back down the ladder, then take the ladder down?

How do you ease the child down safely?

Send an adult up to help the child down.

In the case of Fannie and Freddy, support the existing loans, but let them go into receivership.
