Reid loses on Domestic eavesdropping
You can't make this shit up. The libs are a gift that just keeps on giving. By a vote of 69 to 28, the Reid led Senate backs "Wire tap Bill". Even "Bojangles" vote Aye.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/10/wa...in&oref=slogin
This ought to raise their approval to at least 9.5. But this is too funny. All the hub bub about "illegal wire tap" this, "spying on American that". All the chest pounding, the pronouncement, and pompous claims to defeat this. All the bashing of Bush for spying and it looks like 2 things happened.
All these libs who talk tough to stir useful idiot libs and spewing pure hatred towards, Bush, many when it comes to crunch time, lack the convictions to stop it. And who looks like asses now? Bush who said there wasn't a thing wrong with this, or the libs who said there was, and made such a deal about it, that when it comes to a vote, they pussy out?
God thank you for dummy libs. They make average people look like Einsteins.

Political Correctness defined :
A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Compromising? They caved. The libs don't fear Reid, and Reid is a joke, and Durbin is a "Dick" a rather little dick at that.

Why does anyone think democrats were ever against it, other than being able to use it as a political hammer?

You may have a point, whether this vote reflects the where they have always been and it was just politics up til then. Repubes in the Congress must begin to call them on this, and end this crap of gamesmenship. Instead they cower like wussies and let all the rhetoric fly unfettered. I am growing tired of the crap, and at 9% I must not be alone.

Both Reid & Palosi suck. They've constantly dropped the ball. They forced this horribly written law through & left many including Obama with Hobson's choice.
One good thing came out of it though. The courts are back in & FISA has to be used. Whomever uses it has to basically have a paper trail now.
Also the inspector general has power to look into this stuff now.

I don't think they were. I think it is the same as when the Republicans foolishly voted against the Omnibus Counterterrorism Act (the early draft of the Patriot Act) during the 1990's. They voted against it for partisan reasons and it turns out that just five years later they (along with almost all the Dems) wanted it. Hypocrisy and putting partisanship first is what it is called.
