I did and still do some advertising. The truth is at its height of popularity during shock and awe, Fox news enjoyed the number one spot with about 2 million viewers in this nation.


Now 2 million people is hardly representative of what the nation is watching. Truth be told people really aren't interested in the news in this country. All the other news channels combined barely double what Fox news gets in viewers. So we have slightly over 4 million people who reguarly make it a habit to watch entire news programs in this nation. That hardly speaks well for a nation of 300 million people .

As a advertising exec. I put my people in during the morning weather and sports. Besides that time frame news is not a good investment in the advertising dollar. Unless some major war or event is unfolding and by then its normally too late to buy the spot.

So badmutha while your so proud of your Fox news you should know that all news viewer ship is down. In fact Fox has fell to just about a million regular viewers at the moment. I am sure if Bush attacks Iran or starts another war that number will jump back up to over 2 million quickly again as war mongers just love to hear about death and destruction on their favorite Fox News.

Here's something you won't hear on Fox News -- ratings for the cable news channel have been plummeting since before the November election.

According to TV Newser, the number of people watching Fox during prime time in the 25 to 54 age bracket dropped in April for the sixth straight month.



Other cable stations' ratings were also down since the election, but CNN's, for example, appeared to have stabilized last month while Fox's continued to drop.

What the press release didn't say is that we can add 629,000 people to those who don't watch Fox. That works out to just over 89,857 people for each of the seven News Hounds who are watching Fox so those people don't have to.

Now that we've added another Hound, we should be able to take care of the remaining 445,000 in even less than six months.

Fox's plunging ratings should be a warning to those cable stations trying to copy the news channel's conservative Republican slant. People are tired of it. Try something different, like a progressive television show, for a change.

As I read the diatribes aimed at Fox news, I can't help but chuckle to myself after remembering the failed lawsuit against Fox for using the phrase "Fair and Balanced" on the grounds that it misrepresented what Fox news was.....I guess they were wrong.

Honestly, I have always watched all 3 cable networks (CNN, FOX, MSNBC). Fox leans right, while the other 2 lean left. However, quit watching MSNBC all together about 3 months ago. Even though FOX and CNN lean their respective ways, they give the other side. MSNBC has totally dropped any attempt at accurate journalism.

MSNBC has by FAR the best, most notable, and most balanced staff, (From Herald Ford Jr to Pat Buchannon) as well by FAR the widest and moswt balanced array of guest commentators and guests. "Morning Joe" has both Gopers and dems as regular guests, and the host is a Republican

Oberman is satire and comedy, with news as a backdrop and compared to (CUT HIS MIC...CUT HIS MIC !!!) O'reilly, is a journalistic gem of integrity
