Anyway....I will accept the fact that you didnt address my question, that you agree that stats show guns in the home do not prevent crime. That was my point

That aside, I will answer your question.

The second amendment meqans exactly what it says, that citizens have the right to keep and bare arms within the confines of regulations
Now...unless someone beleives one should be able to own a stinger missile, theyAGREE with me, at least to a point, You want to own a tank, so clearly you dont. Thankfully, yours is not a widely shared belief

Sorry to disappont you, but I am not in the 'ban all guns" camp. What I do believe however, is that even the framers were wise enough in the late 18th century, to infuse the word "regulated" into the amendmant

The question is, just as is the case with any constitutional amendment, what if any, are the exceptions, mitigations and limitations.

I accept the SCOTUS decision, becuse I belive this issue will be revisted at a later time anyway.

My PROBLEM with it is, the judges who complain about legislating from the bench, legislated from the bench. They created a new law to overturn the handgun ban, as opposed to relating the decision to the 2nd amendmant.

Yes, citizens do have the right, withing limits, to keep arms, just dont delude yourself into thinking they make you "safe" becuse the stats prove that to be false
One that new a lot more about the bill of rights would not agree with you. Because in fact the bill of rights caused a big divide between the federalist and the anit-federalist from the moment Madison introduced it. The anti-federalist thought that by only listing certain rights that other rights would be taken away from citazens.

This is the main reason the 9th amendmant was put in the bill of rights. Or are you not familure with the 9th. It is in this and numerous papers written by the founders that prove that the bill of rights was written to give us specific rights per say. Rather it was to limit the govt. from taking these specific rights.

It is in fact a limiting thing not an empowering thing because one could not cover every single right a free citazen had in a single document.

The belief of the founders and the exact words of the 9th amendmant prove this to be so.

this probably has nothing to do with the topic but it really bothers me. i come from a small town ta is just realizing that we are in te twenty first century. i lifeguard at the public pool there and compared to the other 4 or 5 places hat i have worked at this place is and unorganized and unqualified pool. nothing has changed there for 40 years and to even suggest change you are scolded by anyone that has worked there more than one year. it bothers me that the adults cannot except change and they pass it onto there children that change is bad, that the only way anything can work is if it operates as it has been no matter how flawed and just plain dumb it is.

That is what I though and everyone else already knows. You don't know shit so you make up lies to try and cover your ass and change the subject. I have nor ever had any other screen name on this form. I do thank you proving by your own hand that you are a retard. It saves me the trouble, although it ain't hard.
