Legal Drugs Kill Far More Than Illegal, Florida Says

MIAMI — From “Scarface” to “Miami Vice,” Florida’s drug problem has been portrayed as the story of a single narcotic: cocaine. But for Floridians, prescription drugs are increasingly a far more lethal habit.

An analysis of autopsies in 2007 released this week by the Florida Medical Examiners Commission found that the rate of deaths caused by prescription drugs was three times the rate of deaths caused by all illicit drugs combined.

Law enforcement officials said that the shift toward prescription-drug abuse, which began here about eight years ago, showed no sign of letting up and that the state must do more to control it.

Have you ever seen the commercials for pharmaceuticals?

The list of side effects are scary.....bleeding stomach , ulcers, vomiting, blurred vision, and so on.

Just go in the closet under the sink and you'll find something resulting with the same effects.

Well, I guess if people would quit taking these man-made artificial drugs that the FDA 'approves' for human consumption and go back to using the drugs that the good lord grows here on earth for free this wouldn't be a problem. Sure smokin' a blunt wouldn't solve your RLS or Asthma but, it sure would make ya not care about it as much. I consume an occassional asprin and that's about the only FDA approved drug that I consume. I don't trust them at all.

I don't blame you. I avoid drugs at all cost. Think about it. Most drugs do nothing to cure your ailment. But they do hook you into having to take that drug for that ailment for the rest of your life.

Hell, even Rogain says you gotta take it forever or lose not only the hair you grew back, but the surrounding hair you had before you took the drug. This is ridiculous.

Take a pill to treat high blood pressure instead of changing your lifestyle to naturally lower your pressure. And need to take that drug for the rest of your life and if it gets too expensive, then complain about the price. That makes a hell of a lot of sense. NOT!

Oh, and as for side affects, a lot of them say in their TV and magazine ads that DEATH is also a side affect. Nice to know I get to pay someone to possibly kill me and that the government said it was OK to do so.
