Warrantless wire taps.

Judge rebukes wiretap program - Security - MSNBC.com

Although this does not 'prove' them illegal, it does say something about them.

You and I can disagree as to whether terrorists have rights. In principal, I suppose your right but emotionally I think your wrong. Again, you may be a better person than I in that regard.

I do agree that Katrina had many 'guilty' parties. There was no reason to go into Iraq.

We know they were illegal.

That's why Dubya stood before us all and assured the nation that judicial oversight was still in usage, and that "nothing has changed".

The Presidency: It takes little courage — or brains — to join the mob vilifying President Bush. But the Democrats (and Republicans, too) depicting him as villain will one day regret it.
We Democrats are way smart. Studies show that we are better educated than evil fascist neocon Republicans.

Take me, I double majored in underwater basket weaving with the secondary emphasis on striation of weaves. Then went on to get my PhD in the study of Titsi fly migration patterns in Antarctica. I dropped acid and wrote my dissertation on the color patterns emmitted from the lace wings of the Titsi fly - and this is doubly impressive because there are no Titsi flys in Antarctica!

On the economy, there are indications the sun is coming out after a fairly mild economic storm. More data are showing a recession will be avoided, and it looks like a new bull market in stocks began in March after a short and shallow bear.
That's really bad news for us Democrats. We need people to lose jobs and their homes.

If you are a good and faithful Democrat, quit your job for Obama

I'd quit my job, but I've never had a job. I get my SSI check every month, thanks to the greatest man who ever lived, Bill Clinton.

We need the economy to tank, we need misery. It is the duty of Democrats to create misery so that our beloved rulers can take power from the evil fascist neocon Republicans.

Quit your job for Obama!!

See, I like you, comrade. You are smart and logical.

Not like those evil fascist neocon Republicans who get all emotional and call names and never make arguments of substance.

Maybe that makes you a better person than me.
Steve, the point here is that facts don't matter to those who live in a fantacy world. They hate Bush simply because he beat them at their own game during his election against their hero Gore.

I don't agree with everything Bush has done, but i am glad he was sitting by that phone instead of Gore when the crap hit the fan.

I do not like the Patriot Act at all. I think it is a major violation of the Constitution however, to tap phone conversations of non-citizens that have to do with the war on terror has my vote.

As for torture, this is war. I do not know where people get this notion we have to be humane during war with those who want to kill you. This is just stupid. We have war rules? Come on.

"You can kill me this way but not that way." How ridiculous is that. Dead is dead. If you have to put pain to someone to prevent more deaths, then I am for it. Yes there are non-torture ways to get information but when those methods fail to get what you need, then more drastic measures are needed.

Whoever said torture doesn't work, doesn't know their history of human warfare and intelligence gathering. Torture has been used effectively for centuries.

Simply put, if Gore did exactly the same thing as Bush has done, you would be hearing how bold and great he is. This really has nothing to do with the war on terror but everything to do with the fact they just can't get past the 2000 election.

Remember these same people called Reagan a dolt and idiot too. But guess who brought down the USSR? Not Carter.

Torture is unreliable...you won't always get the truth, but you will get what you WANT TO HEAR. Not the same thing by any stretch.

Oh, and if you don't take the moral high road, you can't claim the moral high ground....so much for ethics eh?

Reagan happened to be in the White House after a prolonged "cold war."
The collapse of the Soviet Union took place after decades.....he just presided over the era when it finally collapsed....
