As I've said repeatedly...the UN resolutions prior to 678 were regarding removing Saddam's forces from Kuwait...that we did and just as Bush Sr. and Brent Scowcroft stated...
"Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the U.N.'s mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression we hoped to establish."
Go figure.

660 precedes 678.....678 is worded "all subsequent" Resolutions...one must think in a linear manner.

I understand that...tell me why would Bush Sr. and Brent Scowcroft say, "thus unilaterally exceeding the U.N.'s mandate" if the resolutions in question provided for going into Iraq?
If you think Bush and Scowcroft were wrong why don't you show the wording of which resolution that they missed...

Of course they weren't repealed but then again they did not provide for as you claim...
|
Glad you admit that the resolution was still active. It was proposed to be voided or repealed because the US was using it as a legitimate argument to military action and the UN chose NOT to repeal or void it which DOES leave it active and in effect!
You ignored everything else in my post and came up with that line to me?
Your ass has been handed to you by so many posters here. I am done. You obviously will not pay attention and going in circles with you is a waste of time.

No doubt you're sure making the cons proud with your great abilities at addressing the debate.

Yes...each resolution referred to the previous ones but that still doesn't make them say what you misrepresent them to say...shame you are done since you haven't even begun to provide a viable argument...so pathetic you are.

The wording is very clear. I am not concerned with Daddy B.

Of course it is clear and I am right about it just as Daddy B. was...thank you for your concession.

(smile) The only concession to be had is that we agree that the wording is clear, and that Daddy B. was wrong.

Just as an aside, when I am shown conclusively I am wrong, I will own up to it.
