Default How Much Does the Ear of a Congressional Member Cost?

USA Today has posted the the campaign committee price lists for Democrats and Republicans. For prices ranging from tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars, tickets can gain you access to members of Congress in various ways (parties, exclusive meetings, even strategically-located hotel rooms). Example: "House Democrats are offering a "premier package [$155,000]" at the Aug. 25-28 Denver convention that includes a ticket to a party honoring Speaker Nancy Pelosi [where the two of you may get to chat]

"While legal, the offer of access in exchange for money is a notable move by Democrats who promised, in Pelosi's words, to end the "auction house" atmosphere she claimed existed under Republicans.

Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly defended the convention packages, saying the Democratic committees are "playing by the rules."" --from the USA Today article.

As long as the existing system remains in place We, the People will continued to get screwed by both parties. In 06 I pushed for the Republicans to get kicked out of power for their actions. In 08 the Democrats lack the integrity to kick out their trash like Pelosi.

What we need is a Constitutional Amendment that require reelections be tied to maintaining a balanced budget without imposing new taxes, fees, or any other methods of taking money from We, the People. When running an efficeint government becomes a prerequesit to being eligible for reelction the lobbyists will have lost much of their power. Better yet politicians willl not be able to buy their way into power using taxpayer money.

Sentence structure is a big thing in English 101.

So you do not mind Democrats selling influence? Poor grammar is a bad thing, influence peddling is not so bad.
