For reference, the 4th Amendment: "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

What did Scalia say?

Since Phones, Computers, Typewriters, PDAs, spring mattress Beds, etc ... didn't exist when the US Consitution and Bill Of Rights was written, so they are not protected against US Government Spying, Wire Tapping and Photography.

So all communications, papers and effects, what you do in bed, what you say on the phone, etc is not Private and is NOT covered by the 4th Amendment.

That is what Scalia described as a strict interpretation of the US Constitution that Scalia, Thomas, Roberts and Alito believe in.

Plus, some of those same Justices believe that the Constitution allows States to have States Supported Religion. That's right, they say only the Federal Government is prohibilited from a states supported Religions.

We have 5 Catholic Supreme Court Justices and all the legal and illegal immigration is Mexican=Catholic, so the Pope is your next religious leader.

I don't call Democrats unpatriotic nor to I call them terrorists.
Maybe you don’t. Good for you. But people in your party do and if all I know about YOU is YOUR party then I have to assume that you find me a terrorist. And if you espouse any right wing rhetoric, I HAVE to assume you as an extremist right winger. Thus the state of our union. How far left does one have to go before you call him “looney”?

Quote:
What is the effect of calling the "other side" names?
Pretending half the nation speaks for the whole nation. The effects both sides have wrought.

I don't call all on the other side names, just the looney far left.
I have seen you call people more moderate than me names. Am I part of the “looney far left”?
Quote:
They deserve it. IMO they are fucking idiots.
Just like Scalia. Scalia calls non-originalists “idiots”

Quote:
I offer no retractions for that statement. As for the effect, I don't look for any, I am just being honest, no effect is needed by me.
Am I “looney”?

Quote:
Wouldn't that make the Republicans the Big Tent party then?
I’m not sure what you mean by this.

Quote:
Yep. Although I didnt' really need to add the fuckheads part, because the radical left wing part indicated that they were already fuckheads.
So I am a “fuckhead”?

What do you mean maybe I don't? Either you have seen me do this or you have not.

Should I equate what people in your party say to you? Should I assume that you are an extremist left winger?

Calling individuals names is not calling the other side names. Calling a particular fringe group names, such as the looney far left, also isn't calling the other side names.

As individuals mainly, but not because of their affiliation, but rather of what they say and more likely because they were also using the same type of language. I have seen you do the exact same thing, so not sure where you are getting the 'holier than thou' attitude.

No, I don't consider you part of the looney far left.

Actually, I think he said that if a person believed that the Constitution would break if it didn't change with the times was an idiot.

Never said you were.

You said Republicans don't share a single trait. Therefore I am assuming you are saying there are many differences within the Republican Party.

Do you consider yourself radical left wing? I made myself clear.

You've seen it Dom. Nothing can be spoken of with the imediate referecnce to party afiliation and all pejoratives that come with it.

The holier than thou attitude is my style now. I love this place because a few months ago I said things I would never say now, or ever again. Yes I change my positions alot. I am a student. Everyday new info hits me. How can I not change.
Right now I wan't to discuss in terms of logic and am angry that no one can. It is not holier than thou. It is sadder than thou.
