Actually you are a little off on this. Major international corporations are building factories here while American corporations build factories over there. Japan for instance, Toyota, Honda, Panasonic, etc have build many major factories on US soil in the last decade avoiding places like Brazil, Vietnam and Bangladesh. These are the very places the US corps are building factories.
Interesting dynamic I know but we are not a manufacturless(???) nation and that will not happen. You are still almost as likely to find many products made in the USA as made anywhere else in the world unless you are talking consumer electronics. That is a whole different category.
Actually, international companies are building ASSEMBLY plants here. They are not producing anything. The parts are made off shore, imported then assembled, mostly by robots, and then sold.
This country used to export automobiles, now we import them. We used to have millions of people employed in the aircraft industry, in Calif. alone. We used to export washing machines, lawn mowers, furniture, clothing, and enough food to feed many of the poorer nations.
Just look around your house, over 80% of the things you have bought, in the last 10 years, are imports. Hell, chances are the lumber used to build you house was imported, if the house was built recently. Check your closets, you'll be hard pressed to find clothing, shoes, or accessories made in the U.S.A. The same applies to you furniture, appliances, kitchen knives, dishes, everything. Just look.

The Unions are fighting against the WTO Slave labor program in which is endorsed by both Democratic and Republican presidents in the last 30 years (Especially Bush Sr. - Bill Clinton - & G.W. Bush). Their scam....
I mean plan is to take the jobs from Americans and give it to illegal aliens so that the corporations dont have to pay fair wages or follow labor laws.
Meanwhile, Unions are organizing and saying "Wait a minute......if you're going to let illegals come into America and take jobs then you have to follow the labor laws and treat them fairly as a citizen would be treated"
By doing this....there is no longer an incentive for corporations to hire illegals once they have the same rights as citizens. This action taken by the Union leaders will deter the corporations from hiring illegals.
The traitors in this country are the ones whom are endorsing Free Trade......which we all know does not exist because in order for it to be called "Trade" there has to be an exchange of goods between both countries and we very well know that this is not the case.
You are absolutly right,Petey. The Unions do not Hire the illeagals, their responsible for protecting Any worker that the employee hires to try and keep it fair in the work place.
You guys shouldn't be mad at the Unions. You should be mad at the Employers!
Blam it on this "so called" Free Trade and the Neo-Cons who pushed it down our throats! There are more illeagals here now after Reagan gave them amnesty in '86 and even more after NAFTA because it has also gotten worse in Mexico after NAFTA.
Its time to take back AMERICA!
BULLSHIT. The unions are just trying to recuite more dues paying members so there is enough money in their retirement/pension fund to make stealing it worth while. They don't give a rats ass about any members.
As for trade, this country no longer PRODUCED anything to trade, we are just another consumer nation. Dependent upon others to produce what we consume.
Disagree all you want but what i posted is the truth. Our enemy is all of those whom endorse FREE TRADE. Do you endorse free trade?
Why does this country no longer produce Teak?
I'll tell you why......The WTO and the dickhead president whom supports it thinks that it's better to close up all of the factories here in America and let the corporations move over seas to slave camps and leave Americans jobless.
and yes......free trade does not exist because there is no exchange of goods between both countries . I here by rename the WTO the FAO "Fuck America Organization"
And just for the record you phrase : "we are just another consumer nation. Dependent upon others to produce what we consume." can be heard on any of the brainwash radio PROGRAMS on AM radio.
Unfortunately so do some Republicans, like Bush and McCain (I don't believe him when he says he has changed).
Yep. They pander for the Hispanic vote.

Sure, but if the union recruits these illegals then should they really bitch about illegal workers in the first place?
President Bush is demanding a vote on the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) before he leaves office next year. The Colombia FTA is wrong for workers both in the United States and Colombia.
Tell your senators and representative that you OPPOSE the Colombia Free Trade Agreement and that they should, too. Use our toll-free number to do so today:

With the U.S. economy in near free fall, President Bush has sent the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) to Capitol Hill—Bush wants to force a vote before he leaves office next January.
The all-out, nationwide mobilization to let members of Congress know that working Americans oppose this deal begins today.
As the fight gears up, we need to know whose side your members of Congress are on. Call your senators and representative today to ask if they will side with workers and oppose the Colombia FTA. The call is toll free:

We need you to report back to us: Click here to let us know how your lawmakers will vote.
The deal is wrong for workers in both countries.
Bush has made passing this agreement a priority, even though it will do next to nothing for the failing U.S. economy.
The Colombia FTA represents a continuation of the Bush administration’s failed trade policies, an agenda that has contributed to the loss of more than 3 million manufacturing jobs since 2000, skyrocketing trade deficits and shrinking paychecks.
Colombia remains the most dangerous country in the world for union members—39 trade unionists were murdered in 2007 and another 17 to date in 2008. Of the more than 2,500 murders of trade unionists since 1986, only some 70 cases—about 3 percent—have resulted in convictions.
Balanced trade agreements must guarantee the right to organize, lift the lives of workers in both countries and prevent exploitation. But this can’t happen in a country where workers who try to organize are killed.
Colombia’s government has thwarted workers' right to organize and bargain collectively—by weakening labor protections, refusing to register legitimate unions and failing to enforce the law against anti-union discrimination. Remember to call your representative and senators today. Tell them to oppose the Colombia FTA: 1-866-338-5720.
In solidarity,
Working Families e-Activist Network, AFL-CIO P.S. Please tell your friends tocall the U.S. House and Senate today at 1-866-338-5720. Together, we can stop the Colombia FTA.
This is true, however, who has lured and continue to hire illegals in this country. How many businesses have exploited these illegals with low wages or if they paid them at all? How many conservative voting business owners/employers have worked these illegal immigrants from sun up to sun down, basically 5:00am to 8:30pm during the summer, Monday thru Saturday! Many of these employers have made these workers work on their lunch breaks!
Truth be told, illegals are being encouraged to join unions so they can ensure they get paid equitable for the sweat labor, safe working environments, and 8hour days/40 hr work weeks, holidays off, health benefits, pensions, etc.
America doesn't have an illegal immigrant problem so much as they have an illegal law breaking exploitive employer problem!!!
Illegal immigrants from south of the border would not come to America if law breaking employers would not hire them.
If Illegals were not lured, enticed, hired and exploited by predominately conservative business employers and businesses, unions could not hire them in the first place.
Ya see Wow.......its a little deeper and convoluted than just the veiled statement and assumptions on the illegal immigrant issue....RIGHT!

Why not we sign an agreement that if we let all the Mexicans come, who wish to come to America. Mexico has to let all the Americans who want to come to Mexico to go to Mexico.
We should move 20 million Americans into Mexico and get some more Mexican land. I imagine, Mexico will tighten it's borders a bit more...

No, I'm a believer in balanced trade. I give you $1.00 worth of corn for $1.00 worth of mango.

Well, higher taxes on businesses, outlandish demands by unions, unreasonable retirement expectation by workers, workers demanding $35 per hour to watch a robot weld parts together, etc. have all contributed to driving companies off shore.

If we are so jobless, why do we need more H1B, and low skilled work visas? The US is currently issueing 350,000 low skill work visas, and 195,000 H1B visas, per year, with industry wanting increases in both, and Congress welling to give it to them.

Jobless referring to the people whos jobs were either sent over seas or refilled by immigrants from latin america . Because the job position has been either filled over seas or by an immigrant from El Salvador here in America it still leaves the American jobless. We AMERICANS dont need more H1B and imported workers here in America. America needs
