"In the most recent issue of the Trinity Trumpet Newsmagazine, published by Trinity United Church of Christ, the pastor slurs Italians, according to CNSNews.com.

"The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans," Mr. Wright explained, and Jesus's death on the cross constituted a "public lynching[,] Italian[-]style".

The Trinity Trumpet's mission statement reads:

In fulfilling our church motto, "Unashamedly Black, unapologetically Christian”[,] and the mission of the pastor to educate, nurture and empower the people of God, the Trinity Trumpet is committed to honoring our African roots and traditions, to giving voice to our deepening faith in God and to serving the ethnic diversity in the global Christian community as well as those outside the church by highlighting journalistic issues that impact, address and speak to our shared human experiences and beliefs in a racially oppressive society."

"There are misunderstandings on both sides," the Illinois senator said. "We cannot solve the problems of America if everytime somebody somewhere does something stupid, that everybody gets up in arms and forgets about the war in Iraq and we forget about the economy."

On Tuesday, Obama's rival for the Democratic nomination, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, weighed in directly, saying: "I think that given all we have heard and seen, he would not have been my pastor."

The controversy began earlier this month when videos of Wright sermons surfaced, including one in which the pastor shouts "God damn America" for its treatment of minorities.

Wright has said the U.S. government invented AIDS to destroy "people of color" and has also suggested that U.S. policies in the Middle East and elsewhere were partly responsible for the 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and the Pentagon.

In a highly publicized speech last week, Obama sharply condemned Wright's remarks and the preacher's refusal to acknowledge progress in race relations. But he refused to repudiate his longtime spiritual mentor, saying he could no more disown Wright than he could disown his white grandmother

I'll bet his GrandMa doesn't much care for him either.
Why is it that whenever Obama notices something wrong with Clinton, he doesn't mind talking about it - or pointing it out, or bringing it up over and over again. But, whenever the finger is pointed at him, all we hear is "this isn't helping anyone get healthcare" -Remember that line during one of the debates? He's a total politician. He just wants to divert the attention as soon as possible..... Healtchcare didn't mean shit when he was accusing the Clinton's of being racists - but now that he's being accused of being a racist.... He wants to discuss the war instead.... ok. So, lets discuss that....

I was, and always have been against the war in Iraq. But, for him to say he is the better guy simply because he voiced that he was against it - it's bullshit. I remember how scared the country was and how our government (i.e. senate and congress) were lied to, they felt it was the best thing to do, at the time, for the sake of the people. They (senate, congess) didn't want to be responsible for the deaths of more Americans... can you imagine? I don't fault anyone who voted for it. I fault the asshole who says he was against it from the beginning, and then VOTED, to support and fund it. What a hypocritical cocksucker. Are you telling me that his one little vote - that as we have seen, never mattered much before - because rearely did he choose to use it - all of a sudden mattered so damn much? His reason is that he voted for funding because the guys were already there, likely fuckin' story.

In every example we have of this guy - he is a pussy. he doesn't stand up to his minister/friend. Doesn't stand up to the "politics" in WA. Doesn't stand up to the waste companies in IL. Doesn't stand for shit, doesn't vote, doesn't salute the flag, has some fucked up version of America, and people have the nerve to question why I don't want this piece of shit runnin' my country. Gimmie a fuckin' break. This guy is a douche bag.

Nature, if more voters scruntinized the candidates like you do we'd have a better selection to pick from.

Nature---now that you have that off your chest!!! Let me just say I think this is a very commendable piece of writing and I agree with every word of it. I also see him as being "weak" (you said he is a "pussy" and that is what I mean by being "weak") he cries and whines like a little girl---and my apologies to the "little girls" of this country. He whacks on Hillary and she whacks back and he squalls and takes on, hell she has more testosterone than he does. If anyone calls him by his middle name he takes on like they just cussed him. Didn't that dope know what his middle name was when he decided to run in this race? Didn't he know that if he takes a punch at Hillary she will try to lay him out flat? Does he have one frigging clue as to what he is trying to do? He is weak and whiny and I DO NOT want to listen to his bullshit for four long years of a presidency so I will work for any other candidate to help them along and try to keep him out of the White House, I don't see him as being up to the task. If he can't handle Hillary, his middle name, and has to invoke the charge of "racist" every time anyone doesn't agree with him or dares to criticize him..............he just isn't for me.

Yes, I feel much better now - getting that off my chest. I just really hate this guy. As much as I hate Bush. He just really gets under my skin. I just don't see how people are so blinded by bullshit.

I think that the whole point is that non of the nominees are perfect and we must make a gut check as to who we will vote for.

This is the only election that I have considered not voting. I will vote, because I like bitching. I would be quite miserable if I couldn't bitch for 4 years.

Recently I have been speaking with people about the upcoming presidential election and one thing has become clear to me, people are not happy with the candidates on either side. There are so many people planning on staying home which is not an effective way to voice displeasure as silence CANNOT be heard. To that end I have decided to launch an e-mail to try to convince people who are thinking of not voting to vote for me in the next election, to write in my name, Kenneth G. Poole. If we, the people, do not act now to change the direction of our country we will continue to get more of the same in the quality of the candidates.
As I am uncomfortable asking for your precious vote without telling you about myself. I am a staunch conservative. I find that just as the Democratic party left Reagan, the Republicans are leaving me. I hope to wrest the party back from RINOs , people who cannot or will not stand by their principles such as McCain. I know there is good and evil in the world, 9/11 showed us both. Islamic terrorist flying planes into the WTC and the Pentagon is definitely evil. The policemen and firefighters running INTO the WTC showed us the good. I believe that the Federal government has betrayed the covenant between the people and the Federal government. It is Americans that make this country great and not the Federal government and it is time for us to get the government out of the way of becoming a more perfect Union. I think the reason for the opposition to tax reform is that there would be a tax revolt if the people ever figured out just how much we actually pay. For example, Warren Buffett's secretary making $60,000 a year pays 30% off the top to the government and then everything purchased averages 22% imbedded taxes, so half the secretary's income if eaten up by taxes. We need to clear out the illegals so the States can focus on educating American children. In order to make this a more perfect Union I have worked up a unique platform that I think both liberals and conservatives would agree upon.
First, I would work with Congressman to pass into a law tying reelection to maintaining a balanced budget without ANY tax increases. Also a comprehensive review of all the programs needs to be done to eliminate many and limit many others. So that we can lower taxes for all Americans.
Second, there Federal government is exceeding inefficient and needs to be made efficient. No budget should be signed into law until the Congress has removed ALL of the their pork. Measures need to be put into place to stop the fraud, waste, and abuse.
Third, illegal immigration MUST be stopped and illegals DEPORTED. We need our products to be made in an America, by Americans. If we had to fight another World War right now we would be in serious trouble due to our lack of manufacturing and lack of producing domestic oil.
Fourth, we must demand that our trading partners met all of our pollution and safety standards at the work place as well of all of our product safety standards.
In summary the Federal government MUST become good stewards of our money and all politicians should be automatically kicked out of office if they are not. It is also time to end the massive amounts of illegal immigration which is lowering the standard of living for Americans.

If you are not pleased with the choices that exist for president then please vote for me instead of not voting. Voters who will not compromise our principles would be better served by writing in someone who has no chance of winning that not voting at all. I had contemplated voting for a fictional character, but I figured a real person, a genuine conservative would be better. So again I ask for your vote. I gladly accept all Democrat voters as well as I know we all share the same vision for American and differ solely on how we are to get there.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Gregory Poole

If I could get every voter who did not like the Three Stooges running I would win the election in a landslide.

There really isn't anyone worth voting FOR...All three Candiates are Liberals in one way or another. All three want to raise Taxes, none will raise a hand in defending our Border, and all of them wish for Government control over the Health System...

You're right N/M,,, I'm hard pressed to see which Candidate would do the least damage to America.
