There is not one thing that you can look at. I would say the changing mindset is the biggest culprit. We went from a 'can do' attitude to a 'that is too hard so I should not try' attitude, a socialist attitude.

Look at illegal immigration. We are told it would be too hard to round up all the illegals and deport them. Compare that to JFK saying we do these things not because they are easy, but because they are hard.

Look at Obama talking about how black men cannot get ahead in America. A black man running for president of the United States of America is going to say discrimination keeps the blacks down. Good grief.

We want a better government. Both Democratics and Republicans are running a 3 card monte scam with issues and people are falling for it hook, line, and sinker. Individuals can buy their own healthcare. We cannot load illegals into are cars, drive them to the border and deport them. We can get a better paying job assuming the illegals have not taken all the local jobs and lowered the wages and benefits. We cannot go to the middle east and fight the who attacked us all through the 90s and up to 2001. We now look to the Federal government to take care of things we should do for ourselves, when they should ONLY be doing what is granted them in the Constitution.

We, the People complain about earmarks, but support our Congressmen when they bring home the pork.

SOMEONE ELSE FINALLY GETS IT! I have been saying this all along. It is not the governments job to take care of us. It is not the governments job to provide us with healthcare. It is not the governements job to give us food stamps (by the way the program is so little used that they have to advertise in order to make it viable.) It is not the governments job to give us money (its ours to begin with and they should let us keep more of our own money with lower taxes.) It is not the governments job to do a lot of things but they do it anyway and the American people want more instead of doing for themselves but they also complain about having taxes that are too high. Well you can't have big, huge government and low taxes. Not possible.

You've hit a couple of nails squarely, Momma

You forgot a couple momma. How about food? I actually had to pay for groceries the other day. And then there's my car insurance. I have to pay for that to. And great point on the job security. Last week I asked for six months off to take care of my wife who has a hangnail, and they said if I took off any more than a week they'd stop paying me.

Oh, and don't get me started on social security. Do you have any idea the size of the check you're going to get? Granted, most people draw out a bunch more than they put it, but how can you retire to Florida and play golf on that chickenfeed. I'll bet if Thomas Jefferson or James Madison or John Adams were around they'd do something about these inustices.

When, oh when is the government going to do something?
