When I said that I thought that Plato was wise beyond his time, I meant that I believe that he was thinking about and expressing ideas that were profound and enlightened compared to his contemporaries (for the most part at least).
I meant it as a compliment to Plato. I cound not see why Plato was referred to as a Stooge.
