Scoody, why couldn't Bush do the same and pick an M16 and accompany the underamed, unsupported and ill-equiped troops he sent into IRAQ??

So you are saying that every man who served in the Guard was shirking his duty?
Did I say that? Nowhere did I say that. I pointed out the ratio between number of personnel that served in Nam and the number that were Guard. I was there in the late 60s and everyone knew why people joined the guard.

Perhaps I should have said The Guard stood a better chance of not going to Nam than a Regular Army member or even a Reservist

Good lord! Is this really what this all comes down to? I thought it was ridiculous during the election with Bush and kerry. Truth is, they both served and I really don't give a shit about who says who served better or with more honor or with more purple hearts. It's enough already. If someone doesn't like Bush, fine. 6 years on, your minds aren't going to change but for goodness sake, let his service go, let the elections of 2000 and 2004 go and come up with an actual plan for the Democratic Party. There's a noble idea. A party with an actual plan. They haven't had one in years and still don't. All you anti-Bush bloggers are focused on the wrong issue. You don't win arguments by being anti something. You win them being for something and being for giving Bush more and more grief is and hasn't worked. They say insanity is continually making the same mistakes and expecting different results. Gee freakin' whiz!

The name of this thread is "The Military Career of our Commander in Chief", so that's what were talking about.
The insanity reference is good, I used it in the "Why Support Israel Thread."
I'm glad you understand that concept.

Cool Stve k is right on

It seems Steve that you do not always like negativity.

I, in 59 joined the Air Force, while at my pcs I got a letter from Uncle, congratulations. My commander and I had a good laugh at that. He told the army" you can;t have him, he;s mine. LOL

I also am tired at regurgatating and masticating this old chymien. It is the thread title, but it's time to move onto constructive discussion.

Has anyone heard of unity 8?
