Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has suggested an end to the trading of oil in US dollars, calling the currency "a worthless piece of paper".

Two things Strike me about this...

1) Damn IT!! he's right about the dollar

2) nothing says "invade me now" to this administration more than suggesting the trade of oil on Euros. Apparently something the Saudis have already figured out.

Some of you may remember that Saddam was lobbying very hard (and with some success) to switch oil trading to the Euro. Not saying this was the over riding reason for the war, but it was, shall we say... a bonus issue...

You just raised a valid point-this factor never mentioned much in our supposedly liberal media is huge. Think about it-we take this country(Iraq) under sanctions for years who are struggling to feed and provide medical care to their citizens and we torture someone for two weeks until they repeat the desired words to back the invasion (all later proven to be false -the tortured man simply wanted the torture to stop)-Curveball-Nigergate-it makes no sense to anyone. Iraq was considering trading oil in Euros and now Iran...

Is it possible there is American dollar imperialism more than a WMD threat and humanitarian democracy mission as some believe...

He doesn't have to... not one boot has to touch the ground. We can make quite a mess in Iran with our advanced weapons arsenal. AND, he (BuCheney) can do it without seeking congressional approval, as long as he ends the hostilities within 60 days.

If Iran wants to retaliate, they will have to cross the border into Iraq to do so (once they've dug themselves out of the rubble), they then become defacto participants in the "war on terror" and the Iraq war...

No declaration of war or messy congressional debates required... Neat huh?

Look I will tell you this right now-I have no desire to overthrow men, control men or demasculate men. You are angry I am ignoring your posts on this feminsim issue that troubles you. I believe in equal rights for all people and am in no way a radical feminist. I have never read or followed any work of Steinem. I am also aware of her association with the CIA.

Not sure what there is to bomb worht anything. They claim they know there is nukes but really dont say much about where. golbal secruity shows some sights. The Americans in Iraq are in Brigade size or smaller. Many stripped of artilery and Armor. The generals are all pretty high on the moron factors these days but I doubt they would not advise some preperation on along the border. Perhaps thats what these mystery bases are for. There insane if they think they will hold. It wouldnt make much sence. They claim the Iranians are insane enogh to commit collective sucide in some phantom nuke strike but then think bombing would induce some sort of econmic pressure to force them to switch back from the Euro. They obviosuly did not belive that would work with Saddam.. They would need a "reghime change" that would recquire invasion.
