Well murtha learned that opening your mouth before all the facts are out is bad
Murtha was trying to make a point that anybody who has ever studied the history of wars can tell you is true.
He was trying to say that whenever you put young soldiers into stressful situations day after day in fear for their lives some will mess up and over react. Some not all, but certainly some never even had a clue about how stressful being in actual combat situations would be till they got there and then do not handle it well.
This is just fundamentally true in war.
Murtha should have kept his mouth shut , kept a eye on the proceedings , tipped off a reporter if the event wasn't being investigated thoroughly and waited to make his statement till some evidence of wrong doing was beyond question.
By the way how many of the marines were found guilty of killing people in Iraq? I remember the trials being in the news , but I don't remember how many actually were guilty. I do remember officers heads rolled for trying to cover up the event.
Kinda like the Pat Tillman friendly fire killing. Nobody wanted the bad press so they tried to hide it. Can't really blame them for that either. But the military has rules about how such matters are to handled. And that is what rules in the military are for and they should always be followed.
That is why all these mercenaries are such a bad idea, they are not under the military rules and you can bet if they get the chance to cover up such a bad incident they will , after all it would be bad for business and embarass the company.

Murtha was looking for any excuse to discredit our troops and advocate pulling out of Iraq! He was so exited when this happened that he couldent contain himself. He thought this would be good news for the Democrats! Is this not obvious?

>>>I've seen enough evidence of other instances of Marine brutality in Iraq that I don't give a shit about a few of 'em being acquitted. But, you are right, I hate Republicans sooo much.

What a joke this is. Someone should close this thread.

What has been perfectly clear from the start is Smitty NOT in the military, but is an imposter.
In addition to Smitty's lack of understanding of the local peoples, he has specified the wrong equipment and wrong tasks for his claimed rank. He is an imposter.
This also brings into question the real identity of those that covered for him when I started to question his authenticity long ago. I guess we have about 5 people here, each with 4 accounts.
I guess everyone of those 5 has their head in the sand today. when do I get banned for pointing this out?

Look at Sam's threat about Military service. Most of these clowns that brag about military are doing so to feel namly and thinking it will trummp any argument abotu foreign policy. Its common on these kinds fo forums. And even i real life sometimes too.
