The truth about "Christmas and Easter".

Anyone that practices Christianity in the fashion of allowing the Scriptures to establish all doctrine (Sola Scriptura) very well knows the fact, that neither Christmas nor Easter are presented in the text of the New Testament teachings of the Christ. I, for one do not recognize the holidays for anything other than what they are....man made customs. But, I would never deny my family the joy of participating in and enjoying none of the holiday's...including "HALLOWEEN", as long they know the truth about such. I give these holidays no special place as to observe nor worship God, they deserve none as far as I am concerned....but they are a holiday to be enjoyed, just as the majority of Americans do. But the true history of how these holidays come about to be observed as Special to the Christian faith is very easy to find. In fact it did not take but a very few moments to come across such facts.

( As taken from {Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, Third Period, AD 311-590, The Church Year} The calendar of "Christian" events such as Christmas and Easter and a few others arose as a result of apostasy (rejecting) the simple forms of worship used in the 1st century. They were produced, "spontaneously" from the demands to follow custom and worship as derived from the Old Testament, as some Christians wanted to establish their own Special days of celebration...to imitate the feasts found in the Old Testament and this spurred them on to create their own celebrations. Many had left Judaism and missed the numerous festivals authorized by God for the Jews to celebrate. But in their eagerness to have their own special days and fun, they apparently forgot that Christ's Law is greater than Moses' Law as declared in Hebrews 8:6. )
