I wouldn't have done it...pure and simple. I would've kept the guy contained...like he already was. And I may have pushed hard first for turning both the Kurdish and Shia territories into UN mandates...like Kosovo...while, yes, keeping Saddam in charge...like we did with Milosovich in Serbia.

Yeah, it's too bad no one came to me first and asked my opinion...

What now? I say we find ourselves a Shah of Iran type of guy....someone who hates Sunni and Shia extremists...and someone who has the personality to be strong...and, yes, somewhat ruthless in maintaining control and supressing the different militias and tribal leaders....oh, and pro-US...of course. The only problem with this are the Kurds...what will they do? I can't see them sticking around too long anyway. So, that's a different problem.
