I am not sure time is on Ahmadinejad's side. Just a few months ago many of his party members lost their elections due to the worsening economy over there. It was a pretty bad defeat if I understand the situation correctly. I am sure that one of his major concessions he wants done is the lessening of the economic sanctions - as they might help him and his men to keep power. I think it can go one of two ways on this.
One way is to make that concession and see if things change, however, if they don't, it won't be easy to get the international community to re-impose the sanctions.
Two, actually strengthen the sanctions to further weaken Ahmadinejad. Thing is, who knows what this will bring on as well.
