Will the death and destruction ever end over there?
So dead... you really believe that 30k propaganda. I REALLY MUCH WORSE THAN YOU THINK...

I'm not going to get into yet another history lesson of how we got into Iraq in the first place. If you are that interested, then you might want to review the "all posts" for Steve k and that should tell you all you need to know about why I supported in the invasion. The statistic that you note about losing "close to a million people" is incorrect and comes from a far-left wing website. According to the UN statistics the number is closer to somewhere between 45 & 60,000 people. A far cry from the million that you are purporting.

As far as Iran is concerned there are a lot of issues going on over there which have been going on since the Carter administration. They have been responsible for a lot of the insurgency in terms of actual insurgents, weaponry and finances. I'm almost surprised that you aren't supporting them.

I don't know why Halliburton is moving to the UAE. Maybe for tax reasons. Maybe they are tired of being shit-canned here at home. I don't really know why but I'm sure you can enlighten us all with your non-biased research. To be honest, Halliburton isn't all that important to me. I really don't give a shit where they move.

This country-whether you like it or not-donates more money, resources, manpower and technologies to more nations than all the other countries on the planet combined. That's not opinion. Just fact. This country offers something that no other country can really offer. This is why people still continue to come here by the millions. To take a stab at the "American Dream" that you apparently know so little about. For you to compare this nation (flaws and all) with rougue nations like Darfur, some of the Middle Eastern countries and some of the countries still run by mass murderers and dictators shows really who you are and what you stand for. It's apparent to me that your ignorance on world events is too much for me to attempt to reconcile. If you hate this country so much and I know you are doing nothing to make change-with the exception of debating me and others in this forum-then maybe France or Cuba or Venezuela is for you. All I know is that this country gives you what you put into it. I get benefits if I need, I can go to a library, I can tell the President to "fuck off" if I like without being killed for it. I live in a country that has a volunteer Army. I live in a country that offers (not guarantees) untold riches if I work hard enough. I live in a country that celebrates diversity not bans it. I live in a country where we can vote politicans in and we can vote them out. I live in a country where issues can be debated openly and sincerely without the looming threat of imprisonment or even death. An despite what you believe, none of my civil liberties have been meesed with. No one is tapping my phone and if they are? I don't care. I've nothing to hide. They'll know I call my Mom and some friendds.

Nothing is perfect in this life. Be it an individual, a government or a country. However, this is where I want to be and having actually been outside this country and seeing other cultures and the opportunities given and offered in some of those countries, I'll stay right here and take my chances. You have the choice of staying or leaving. But id your oging to stay, then do something positive. Anyone can rail against the system. That's easy. The hard part is getting off of the computer and going to work.

Want change? Make it happen. Go to work.

Nice Rant SteveK. Nothing like a one-sided uneven opinion from a fence staddling moderate conservative or whatever you call yourself.

Steve I love the USA for many reasons but face facts. We do not lead in generosity, technology or medicine/health. I am not trying to bust your bubble but when fiction is repeated so long I fear it will lead to Americas decline. Lets be realistic on the United States and where we lead and where we do not.

What about the definition?
