I agree, there was no way we could have diplomatically worked it out

Musicians are good foreign policy analysts the same way foreign policy analysts are good musicians.

Although... there is Condi, who is not only a foreign policy guru, but also a excellent pianist, good enough that she's played Brahms with Yo-Yo Ma at Constitution Hall.

We have become a society of the "Cult of Celebrity". The Hollywood Elite have become the intellectual elite. People like Brittney Spears, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn and others are seen as knowing more about our country and its politics than do any professional diplomat. This all started in the 60's when Johnny Carson would allow airhead big tit starlets tell the audience how stupid our leaders were. Sally Fields and Jessica Lange were called to appear before Congress because they had played farmers wives in movies. They never asked any real farmers to tell them what they needed however since it was obvious real farmers were not well known enough to know anything about farming.

As ye sow so shall ye reap.
