USA joining the fray in Lebanon

We sent choppers and have set up camp just waiting for Hezbollah to provoke us. Yes, we sent military to evacuate citizens and I support that. But here is the problem, just wait for a black hawk down or some other Gulf of Tonkin pretext coupled with a Jessica Lynch fable to get us in. Maybe the family members of the media will generate stories of Hezbollah throwing babies out of incubators like they did in Desert Storm 1. It was bad enough that last night MSNBC ran a hit peice from 1997 on "The Mind of a Suicide Bomber" I have not heard of any suicide bombings in Israel in the past week or even today that would justify this war or justify USA intervention. It is psy-ops, you are being told only one side of the story. Israel is not the innocent loving nation the media tells us it is.

What are you suggesting? That we just send civilian transports in without any help or backing. We have to set up camp in case we are needed to protect our citizens. Of course you haven't heard of any suicide bombers in the past week in Israel. That is the point you also haven heard of any bombing in the US either. If you are on the offensive the the other ream can not be. That is why it works.
Of course Israel is not perfect what nation is. Are Syria, China, Iran, and Palestine peaceloving? Is any nation innocent? NO

My point is that USA will enter one way or another. Even if we get all US citizens out without incident (my hope), I know the military will hang around to invite a pretext, the old Desert Storm 1 "Give us a reason" (I think Hank Williams Jr.) If we get no reason, we will manufacture one. Thus spending American lives that we don't have to. Israel made its on bed,let them lie in it.

We happen to be their ally and if we our government) thinks that they are right in what they are doing then we should support them if it is needed. Right now it is not.

Our support for Israel has gotten us in hot water already. Maybe I do not fully understand why Hezbollah or Hamas or Islamic Jihad have an issue with Israel in the first place, did they just show one day and decide to hate Israel?. If ethnic cleansing is desired, then this conflict will not end until one side is cleanesed. Just like Iraq's civil war will not end until 2 of the three factions are dead or assimilated.

no, they are killing each other. I am non-violent.

You're supposedly giving options to not go into war, you said that to avoid war there would have to be one side that gets "cleansed". That means that you support one side or the other being done away with to avoid war. And, from what you've been saying, it seems as though you want to get rid of the Jews.

When I say if ethnic cleansing is desired, that is my interpretation of what Hezbollah wants and you can't negotiate that. It is all or nothing. When they captured 2 soldiers they did not make any demands other than eradication of Jews, Jews can't met that demand so fighting is the only way, to end that fighting for good, one side has to be cleansed. I do not have an opinion as to which one. If they were going mediate this situation w/ out violence, then that would have already happened. Peace talks have failed so fighting will decide. I just want USA to stay out.

Isn't one of the goals of America to free the oppresed? Shouldn't we help the people that want peace the most? Why would the Hezbollah stop at Israel and not try to take on America? The only way I could see it would be to help Israel if they need it, and only if they need it. Because, we don't need any peaceful nation to have their final day on a timeline.
