I've been here for about 2 years now (I think). As far as disappointment ya it's been that way for a while. Once the presidential elections started warming up last year a whole bunch of more reactive & insulting type posters came on the forum. Both sides really. I honestly think it's a cycle. It will eventually pass.
As to posters hmm. I think there are a good few. Let's see:
Palerider (conservative)
Tokunso (forget how to spell his name) He's a very thoughtful poster I think. (Conservative.)
Pretty much all of the friends I have on my list.
The only exception would be Cade Brandos Don't know much about him he only posted once about video games I responded so he wanted to be my friend.
My friends list I feel has a pretty good mix across of the political spectrum & are for the most part thoughtful posters.
I put a special note on Cotton, don't be put off by him. He can go down a crude direction with certain posters but he really is pretty harmless & quite entertaining & has these great off the wall posts he'll bring up. About his many bizarre cool dreams & life stories.
George Orwell
Still Dizzy
Both old posters that have a lot of real gems.
I would say commissioner too, once he gets past whomever he feels is an arrogant A hole & has to harass them for the prerequisite period before he tolerates them.

He has some pretty thoughtful posts but there are layers one has to go through. Now to be fair that 's MY bias & you may have a completely different experience with him.
Naturemama, even though we are currently having our little fit with one another, she can be a very thoughtful poster.
Cedenot, he is definitely conservative & has a tendency to talk at those apposed to his political spectrum but can occasionally be grounded in rational discourse. Others just have him on ignore. I'm rather tolerant. hehe.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, your experience may very, check with your doctor for any adverse complications.
Each person has to filter through this stuff the best they can. A lot of friends on here use the filter tool. Personally I don't, I get a kick out of pretty much everything.
I sometimes have to remind people that I respond to posts & can have a fight with a poster on one thread & be completely intrigued by something they post on another thread.
That's me though, I'm admittedly odd.
