Crow, take a look at my albums. I uploaded a pic of my daughter dancing with her friend at a wedding. Note: the white girl (my daughter is doing a crazy white girl dance). the friend looks like she knows what she is doing. LOL. My family doesn't live in a bubble. We know many people of different races. My daughter was the only white child in daycare for two years in the evenings while I taught through a government program called "Even Start". She never once questioned why she was the only "different" looking kid there.

I really don't like proving to others my level of cultural diversity. I'm sure it will never be good enough. Actually, I hate that term. I just call it life. In my life, I interact with others that are dif. skin colors. Big whoop. I really choose not to make a big deal out of it.

Next week, my daughter and I are taking some Hispanic friends to the library to help them get a library card and show them the ropes. It isn't part of a "program". Just some people we like.

As for your appreciation of music, I feel ya, Crow, but I have to respectfully disagree. I don't feel my kids need to be exposed to lyrics from rap or any type of music (much of top 40 is inappropriate for younger kids). Nothing to do with race for me. There are white rappers just as raunchy. BTW, I like raunchy music. I'm a wild gal! But, not for my kids.

Crow, how long you been on here? I'm new but very disappointed with the quality of some posters so getting ready to filter. You have many of the more well articulated posts so would like your thoughts on who to make sure I keep in.

FYI, I am looking to filter by quality, not place on plolitical spectrum. The more diverse the views the better.

I think you’re spot on about McCain. For me especially. I could be wrong, but I think that McCain will be more likely to cross lines than say, Romney or Huckabee, & I should like him for this & do, but there are so many things I can’t stand about him. She’s fresh & comparatively young, yet without knowledge…but I think the confetti will fall & be swept away very soon. I'm interested to see how it all unfolds as well.....not biting my nails yet though....that's just gross....lol
