The evils of constant negativity
I am not sure if anyone here has ever thought about this, but does anyone like hanging out with someone that always complaining and negative about everything around them? I personaly don't hang around people like this. I have noticed that people with positive attitudes seem to draw people to themselves. When I find myself being too negative or critical it is usually because I was influenced by negativity.

Rob, you are attacking the entire Surrendercratic Party when you speak of constant complaining. I truly believe the motto of the Surrendercrats should be "Behind every silver lining we have to find that cloud". You can always look at things two ways: The good and ways to build on the good or the bad and how its not worth building on and look how yucky the world is and my life is going down the tubes and I have to outlaw guns because I am so depressed I want to kill myself.
Have you ever noticed how the Surrendercrats have absolutely no sense of humor and every time they try to be funny they end up insulting those people they claim to be fighting for?

Nate, I have noticed this many times, but the real reason for the thread is that I have a co worker that is always negative regardless of the situation he finds himself in.

I like to make a list of many positive words that describe what I want life to be like. Then I read it throughout the day to kind of brainwash myself. Believe it or not, it really works! Also, standing up and shaking all over for a few seconds, putting the arms straight up in the air and breathing deep straigtens out my posture, which seems to help with my mood.
Negative thoughts can easily drag someone down, and others as well.

Well you do have a point and I try to surround myself with happy people rather than those who believe in gloom and doom constantly. Most of the happy people I know are Right Thinking Republicans.
Rob, my ex wife was like that. Nothing was ever right, there was always something lurking in the background to take away what ever good may have derived from what was happening. I called it putting lions in your path.
Its almost like they think happiness is something they are not entitled to and anyone who is happy is either too stupid to understand the situation or has found that happiness by screwing someone else.

Laughs, like the Republican party is more positive with all the policies of fear it preaches?
Neither party is superior. Both suck

Cranky, you are so right about the two parties. I am going to do my best to be postive and look for the good in my surrondings and people that I associate with.

Rob
You need to come pay me a visit and sit on my back porch at sundown and watch the hummingbirds taking their last little sips, the goldfinches and indigo buntings getting a late evening snack, the lighting bugs looking for a date for the evening and the bats looking for the lighting bugs. Occasionally, a mother deer and her fawn come up to graze on my apple trees (or what is left of them at any rate). You can also watch the Cherokee National Forest fade into the darkness (which doesn't happen until around 9:00 PM around here) and then see the stars come out like diamonds in the sky. I am fortunate that I live in the most beautiful area in the entire known univese and when I am sitting on my porch, smoking my pipe and twanging on my lap harp (no, not a device for lap dancing) it is also the most peaceful place known to God and man. There are no politics, no IHNR, no NOYB, no racisim, no worries, just me and God and his beautiful surroundings.
