I have banned the user Lookagain, which is the first time I've banned an actual human poster in 2 years or so of having this board. The reason is for repeated postings of off-topic links, after being warned in a private message not to do so and after posting a response in a thread notifying him to post similar messages only in that thread (so that I'm certain he was aware of the restriction).

Is the ban permanent?

I'm not really inclined to lift it at this point. I went through 500+ previous messages, the vast majority of which were repeated links to Youtube videos or random other websites. People had complained before about incoherence in his posting, which I don't consider to be a reason for a ban, but he singlehandedly posted more spam than most of those robots had.

Too bad he didn't calm down. I kind of liked his wierd ramblings & semi incoherent style.....

It probably will make it easier for most folks to enjoy this place though.

Kudos Kneuk, I am not one for banning, but you could not even reason with him. And how many times do we need to be called Assclown? We got the point many months ago.

I really don't think he had anything to add, or he would have said it.

Will he be able to register using a different name and just continue on where he left off?

I believe the IP address of his computer can be blocked. If not, then he can and probaly will return with a different name or as an unregistered.
