I live 65 miles or so from the nearest large city (Knoxville). I live 30 miles from the nearest movie theater, 20 miles from the nearest library and 65 miles from the nearest bookstore. Other than chase my wife around the barn or watch the deer come up and feed I would have little else to do. I will admit there are some nights that even with 800 or 900 channels there is absolutely nothing to watch. I have watched the Law and Orders so much I can do the dialogue for most of the shows! I like Mythbusters, The History Channel (the other day there was a really interesting program on toilets and toothbrushes) and the Discovery Channel. I used to like Speed Channel before it became "All NASCAR All the Time". I would rather watch Professional Wrestling than NASCAR, at least I know for certain Pro Wrestling is fake.

I contacted my cable company and asked why I was paying $54.70 a month for 65 channels (no pay channels like HBO, no expanded cable) when I don't watch about 1/3 of them. It just boils down to the contracts they have with satilite companies....That sucks, cuz I'd be in the same boat if I went to dish instead. And I do want access to so many channels I wouldn't get with an antenna.

Unfortunately my wife is a TV junkie. I've mentioned canceling cable a few times
and because of her reaction I couldn't do it.

For most of the part TV is garbage and the news is propaganda beyond belief. I prefer reading.

PBS is ALL GOOD especially their news hour, completely unbiased. I only wish they MORE money (and they get VERY little from the Government, I am a member and contribute each year)

Discovery Channels

History Channels

National Geographic

I am very fond of the Science Channel... you religious righties should watch and learn how the universe was really created and where you come from... we are all star children.

I watch only the local news on free TV, mainly sports, weather and traffic. I also watch Leno’s monolog and that’s it. I have never watched any of the reality shows i.e. Survivor American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, the Bachelor or Big Brother.
I watch the History Channel, TLC, HGTV, Discovery ESPN and I love Antique Road show on PBS. I also watch MSNBC and CNN. I don’t watch all that much TV because my time is usually occupied with taking my kids to Dance and Music lessons during the week and home chores during the weekends. Then there is the time I spend surfing the Net.

WTF? Women have a right to say what's on their mind! Period! If that means talking down to a man who deserves it, so be it!

Do I detect a male chauvinist pig?

Ten commandments for wives
Expect not thy husband to give thee as many luxuries as thy father hath given thee after many years of hard labor. (Phil 4:11; Amos 4:1)
Thou shalt work hard to build thy house with the husband that you have, not fantasizing about "the one that could have been". (Prov 14:1)
Thou shalt not nag...hit him with thine frying pan, it is kindlier. (Prov 27:15; 21:19)
Thou shalt coddle thy husband and be a warm wife. (1 Cor 7:3-5)
Remember that the frank approval of thy husband is more to thee than the side glances of many strangers. (Ezek 16:32; 2 Pet 2:14)
Thou shalt not yell at thy husband but will be a gentle and quiet spirit. (1 Pet 3:1-4)
Permit no one to assure thee that thou art having a hard time of it. (1 Pet 5:9)
Thou shall not fail to dress up for thy husband with an eye to please him, as thou didst before marriage. (Sos 4:9-11)
Thou shalt submit to thy husband from thy heart and allow him to be head of the household. (Col 3:18; 1 Pet 3:6; Eph 5:33)
Thou shalt assure thy husband and others that he is the greatest man alive. (Phil 2:3; Sos 5:9-16)

Uh...yeah...well times have changed dude! Get with the program...men were not created to be waited on hand and foot otherwise God wouldn't have given them their own two hands. Take a big bite out of that!
