Default Do Conservatives HATE PBS

I am just wondering what righties on this site really think about PBS and if there any other posters besides myself who contributes to PBS?

It's funny, I have HDTV and the "Everything" Pack on Digital Cable and the channel I watch the most is the one that is free.

Althought PBS has a stunning HD Channel...

They have tried to vote it down for six years.

Installed a new chair

demanded scripts get re-written.

PBS is still there and uncovering things going on with this administration with shows like FRONTLINE (and the vast majority is privately funded, up to 80% now). The private funds tell me people want this overall.

I love Frontline... I pretty much love every show on PBS except for the Piano Guy.

Yeah, but those fuckups at npr fired Bob Edwards. And now they have those pompous kids of good cheer in his place. And the Market Place segment is so full of shit I just want to get my shotgun out and go hunting NPR shits. They installed some puppet from Wall Street to spew upbeat false impressions. And the normal commentators saw the way Bob Edwards went and started reporting the most outrageous crap to prove they were right wing.

I'd like to see Pacifica take over NPR.

I like Frontline as well. Pretty much the best program covering Katrina than most. I also like The American Experience, Nova and Antiques Roadshow, and the different era life shows - what was it the 1800 house ?, the ranch house ?etc.

( by the way, if you ask me what I consider a liberal or a democrat, it would be the family on ranch house. What a bunch of idealistic baffoons trying to run something they didn;t know anything about by what they thought SHOULD be the right way, instead of using logic and common sense to MAKE it work. (or as my father would call them: " those fucking people with their heads up their ass " )

By far the worst program IMHO is the home improvement ( this old house ? or whatever it's called) with the 4 morons that can't get a regular job so they got a family member to hire them for PBS. Maybe it's home improvement for the silver spoon crowd but anyone with common sense can tell you how to fix the problem without consulting Moe, Larry, Curly & joe. I can't watch it without yelling at the TV so I no longer waste my time.

But, Frontline and the American Experience is so well done it's worth putting up with the jerks on just one or two other shows.

I am a fiscal conservative and I do not hate PBS. Don't really watch it though because I find most of it pretty boring, but I only watch tv for entertainment, not news, not politics....just escapism. I like "The Riches," "Lost," "The Shield," and reruns of "Third Watch," and The Discovery Channel.

There are very few DVDs that I will order of TV shows that are presently broadcast and new...these are the only ones (from PBS). I did get the whole 'The Prisoner' set though, but that is a classic from the BBC (Patrick McGoohan). Great show...I OD'd on it one week last summer when I got it...I did not remember all those shows and how they fit together so well. Used to watch it as a kid...

Their Mystery Theater is very good sometimes. I hate what the neo-cons are doing to them.
