American Made Goods That Are Better.
This is Rob's idea, but I'll start it.
High end stainless steel cutlery made in Europe or the US is better than the cheap stuff that's invariably made in Asia. It's more expensive, but holds an edge a lot better and lasts a lifetime. Chinese-made cutlery in particular uses inferior stainless steel that rusts and pits when left in water for any length of time, and a knife with a pitted edge is a useless tool.

Anything made in China is inferior and also deadly in many cases. If I were president I'd ban all chinese imports and get American factories back in business. If it has a "made in China" label on it I never buy it.

You must not own much. Actually, I own a couple of electric fans that were made in China that I've been quite satisfied with. On the other hand, I once bought an evaporation cooler brand new in a pristine box that was made I think in Arkansas, and I took it out of the box to find the cooler badly dented, which happened in the factory before it was boxed. Probably some disgruntled, overpaid union employee kicked the side in.
American made molded steel products like nuts and bolts are better. I once bought nuts and bolts made in China of the same size with threads that didn't match. I didn't know that was even possible.

Actually I don't have that much made in China junk anymore. I have to admit I used to before all deadly toxins started showing up in them and just threw them all out. You can still buy good things made in America (but not many anymore) or made in other countrys besides China and that's what I've been doing for a while now. The Canadian products are much better than Chinese .. If I can't find something that's made somewhere else I simply do without it..

Golly, that's real interesting. Like what?
American packaging is superior insofar as you need a chain saw to get into it. Since this is generally petroleum-based indestructo non-biodegradable plastic, this has to change. American packaging is extreme overkill and a terrible waste of energy and resources.

If the government allowed Chinese-made goods imported here to be sold as "Made in America", would that make China our 51st state?
