Hell I not only was .... ready ...... to relegate both parties to the dustbowl of history ..... decades ago .... i did so..... long ago .... and have not changed that opinion....
but..... the REALITY of the futility of doing so (voting third party which I have done on several occasions) was not lost on me either ..... the reality of such dissent actually being heard and changing any fucking thing will not occur ....short of ..... a very real ..... armed revolution ...... sooooo I confess to having done as millions of Americans have done and continue to do ...... we vote for the lesser evil....

Again, we find common ground. However, I don't see it as futility... I see it as not enough of us, have reached enough of "them" yet. I can't just give up and wait for the whole thing to come crashing down or end in violent revolution. Revolution doesn't have to mean carnage, just a quick a sudden change.
I will continue to do everything in my power to educate those that are trapped in the two party paradigm. To speak against the fraud of voting for the lesser of two evils. Vote third party, continue to vote third party, and bring as many people with you as you can, and get them to bring people, and so on. If folks just give up and resort to a defeatist attitude... then yes... your maverick voting will go unrewarded.
But, it's not just about the national races... it's local.
Gummer, you may think I'm full of myself, and I'm fine with that. But we have far more areas of common ground than you think. And I for one, would rather set aside differences and concentrate on shared interests. Once the big issues are solved, the little ones can be taken care of much easier.
Fostering divisions and dissent amongst the people is ALWAYS counterproductive. I've said it a hundred times on this forum, it's not D vs R... it's the people vs gov't. That's how this system of gov't was set up by the founders, and the only way we can remain free.

I think it isimprotant to udnerstand that that the politicans are after their own well being and not most of Americans. The problem is that most of us are divided and the media and DC likes it that way.
