Problem solver. It was Suckem's idea, I just ran with it.

But I admit I could go for a nice big rack of moose antlers to rattle around and scrape on trees and piss off the other meese.

Well "Sachem" you pose an interesting question. I would posit there are several reasons:

1st) For the pure joy of killing another living creature, without any possible danger to one's self.

2nd) To prove how brave & courageous the hunter is.

3rd) To demonstrate how "macho" the brave hunter is.

4th) To impress the brave hunter's family, friends & associates.

5th) To play God by pushing another species into extenction.

6th) To challenge God's instruction that man be a good steward of Creation.

7th) Because the hunter has no other way to prove themselves successful.

8th) Because its fun to slaughter what can not fight back.

9th) Because the hunter believes that all creation belongs to them.

10th) Because the hunter is too ignorant to find other forms of fun.

11th) Because other sports & activities require physical & mental effort.

There are probably some other reasons too: but these are just a few that come to mind. ...pjwky

Mr. Thoreau, you win the girl!

Have a nice life together in the Alaska wilds where there isn't any electricity for a computer.

I take it that some have never been in a wild area where one species is over populated they can destroy the area's other wild life. One of the reasons for hunting seasons is to harvest some to leave more room for the ones left.

These are depredation hunts.

Personally, I think killing wolves is bullshit; but nevertheless, such hunts are considered management tools.

There is no "wolf season".

I know this, but the animals that the wolf may feed on are also hunted by man. But I am thinking that you only buy your meat at the store and beleive that all meat comes wrappen in plastic with a price tag.
