That would be RED LICORICE.

A play off of the original Licorice candy. Technically Licorice is flavored from a Licorice root but in the world of candy there is a variety of flavors.

That must have been a while back (decades)..... I remember when they first started making that red stuff ....and they did in fact CALL it red licorice ...... someone must have pointed it out that it WASN'T licorice ...sooo ..... they started calling it red ropes or red vines .... but that crap ISN'T licorice and never was ... If it IS licorice...it TASTES like licorice...
