The current statistics show almost as many women cheat as men (in the US). A great deal of this is that many more women work (now, compared to the past) and have mobility. But, with this said, women look for something different than men do when an extra-marital affair happens.

So...what I hear you saying is that they have a sexual need that's not being fullfilled to their satisfaction at home.

Either emotional or sexual, something isn't being fullfilled to satisfaction at home.

You aren't right at all. You just confirm that you know very little about men. If they were getting it every night from their wife, most of those men who do cheat would still cheat. If anything, just to screw someone different. If you mean the wife isn't fulfilling his needs by letting him screw other people you would be correct, otherwise you would be wrong.

That could be part of it. If his sexual needs are for him to have a little strange every once in a while, why did he get married in the first place? Secondly, why didn't he negotiate an open marriage from the get go if that was his sexual need?

The point being that unless the husband and wife have a negotiated open marriage, they are sexually incompatible if one is sneaking around cheating while the other is being faithful thinking they are pleasing their spouse. They may be in denial about it, they may hide it from the other, but the bottom line is they are sexually incompatible. Yeah, they may enjoy it immensely when they have sex together, but for at least one of the partners, that's not enough for their sexual drive. So they seek sex elsewhere as well as at home.

I would say they are sexually compatible if an open marriage was negotiated from jump street though. At least they understand where the other one is coming from on the issue and they're dealing with it in their own way. It's not living a lie then...thus...compatibility.
