One of my great joys was getting to work with Bobby several times while I was going to college at the school his mom was working as a piano professor. He would come in and see his mom and work with us 'kids' at the school. He is a hell of a musician, one of the best I have every worked with.

A let down for today...had been offered to play the lead alto sax (+soprano sax, +clarinet, +flute) book for Johnny Mathis tonight but am out here visiting my parents in Los Angeles. The kicker is the it is the third time and about six years I have had to turn down the contractor for Mathis because of scheduling conflicts. It is the only act I have ever had to do this with, very strange.

Neat!

I got to work with Bobby Mcferrin in college as well.

I sang with the vocal jazz ensemble for a couple years and bobby was a good friend of our director.

The guy is great!
