They are not abandoned , they can drill a shaft large enough without risking more lives . Miners stick together , they would never stand there with thumbs inserted like our politicians on the war and other IMORTANT issues out there to be avoided . No wonder the soviets fell to the crap heap of history !

The old days were rough but technologies and a little human compassion seems to have helped save thousands . Is Russia , when they have a mine disaster it is just that , a disaster . Now they are smart enough to ask for help .

I didn't see this in the article, but why can't companies give miners a homing device to be worn on duty, that will help track the where abouts of these men in case of a diaster?

They are supposed to be reported and tracked the entire time in the mine BUT .....something moved .
