Literally they are correct in their assumption that the land they live on now was once theirs. Historically this statement is very much true.

As for assimilation into american culture, it has been the traditions of many immigrants like irish, italian and germans who brought along with them their customs, which have been assimilated into our culture.

A little bit of me, left over from my native grandparents, was in sympathy with the part about this having been their country. But we cannot go back, they should.

It is not likely that they will go back just because the jobs dry up. Our government is trying like hell to put together a way to give them a path to citizenship in language that will not enrage those of us that are here legally or by birth. Why leave when they can just wait it out until the welfare system picks them up?

Immigration, not the war, not abuse of power, not the myriad scandals will cause revolution in this country. I am starting to see the need for a little revolution.

Again, my question is. If they have the ability to come over legally, why do they sneak into my country. Because most of them sneaking into the country are here to do harm, and commit crimes. Guess what, I am sorry but I don't care because hes taking away from me and my future family by doing so. As far as I'm concerned, we should ship all illegals back and start taking people off of welfare and giving them all the jobs that open up when we kick their asses out of here. It would save us a lot of money taking all those lazy bastards off of welfare.

Getting tired of hearing stories in the news, "Another illegal kills cop" or "Illegal drunk driving mows down young girl"...especially when it is added in that they had been deported 3 times already. When will people realize they will not stop coming until we make it impossible for them to cross the border.
