Default Bush: Massive deportation is unrealistic

Quote:
President Bush had a blunt message Monday for fellow Republicans focusing only on get-tough immigration policies: He said sending all the nation's estimated 11 million illegal immigrants back to their home countries is not the answer.

"Massive deportation of the people here is unrealistic – it's just not going to work," Bush said. "You know, you can hear people out there hollering it's going to work. It's not going to work."

Bush is making a red herring argument here.

Good thing he is a lame duck because he could never win another election with this kind of stupidity and deafness.

Another source that says the same thing.

Some people probably would object to the conservativevoice source.

>>>Just think about the logistics of rounding up and herding 11 million people back to the border. It can't be done.

Btw, I'm in favor of sealing the border and giving those people that are here permanent work permits, but not giving them or their offspring citizenship.

That is the funny thing George, I have not heard anyone say that we need to "round up" the millions of people that are here.

People born here are American citizens, but there is a law on the books to deal with that already. They can return to their illegal parent's native country and return once they are 18 years old.

Anyone got an estimate on rounding up millions of people and sending them back? The would just come back next year, and we would have the same problem in another few years. Sealing the border? How do you intend to seal the border? Building another Berlin wall? Im not sure that would exactly put us in the good grace of the rest of the world. (not that they already dont hate us.)

Every country has a right to protect their borders. Without borders you have no country. You can't compare the U.S. of wanting to build walls to protect her borders to the Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was built to keep people in. The U.S. needs to build strategically placed walls and significantly increase border patrols & security to control over 1 million people entering across the mexican border every year.

As for stopping the flow of illegal workers entering the U.S., you must start with the U.S. companies and businesses who are hiring illegal aliens. Congress must pass laws to penalize companies by making them pay large fines and risk prison terms for hiring illegal workers. If the jobs dry up/disappears--you will see a sharp drop off of illegal workers coming to the U.S.

The next U.S. President must hold the Mexican Government accountable for encouraging it's citizen's to illegally enter the U.S. The U.S. must turn to Mexico's political leadership, their coroporations, Family Oliarchies, and law enforcement agencies and convince Mexico to enforce their own borders, or suffer severe trade sanctions.

Mexico currently has 40% unempolyment and a non-existent middle class; as a result, the Mexican government must allow foreign investments into Mexico to develop jobs so the citizens of mexico can build a future for themselves, their families and for the overall well being of Mexico. A robust growing Mexican economy will allow for future mexican citizens to stay in their own country to work and build futures and also convince illegal workers in the U.S. to one day return back to Mexico b/c now there are jobs to he had in their country of birth.

The U.S. must increase border security by way of constant patrolling and apprehension of all illegals caught entering the U.S. illegally and return them to Mexico. A Wall will have to be built along key sections of the border to act as a funneling mechanism to make illegall immigrants enter at certain points of entry, thus allowing for a more manageble means of detection.

If we deport, all our meat packing plants will close......what will I eat?

Plus the meatpackers will actually have to start paying wages competitive to other industries, that will cut into the rich people's profit!

Lets keep them all here, even if they are illegals.....our taxpayers can handle the burden, look at what the war costs us daily...whats a few more millions each day?

We're in Iraq "to save the world," according to Bush & Co., so why not start saving the world with Mexico. lol.
Seriously though, Rastaman was right. Start with US companies. Make the penalties for hiring illegals not worth ther risk. If they can't find work, most of them will go home of thier own accord.

>>>Rich people have been given a free ride for way too long. Can't have people taking off with $400 million dollar retirement packages. Shoot, that's as much as A-Rod makes. And A-Rod has to actually work some.
