Corporate welfare is most definitely a problem.
Not that anyone will listen, but Americans pay double for sugar because of the US sugar lobby.

I am listening and you have my full attention, as I agree with you about corporate welfare
I live in a farming community, everytime a farmer tells me how bad it is, he then climbs into his brand new 4 x 4 truck...LOL Then you read the names in the papers of some of the major farmers, one guy farms under three different corporation names, and gets a little over 1 million in subsidies between the three........
I wish I just had an extra hundred bucks at the end of the month.

The old "family farm" canard huh?
That is another example of welfare that the righties don't like to talk about.
Another example of welfare that is currently bothering me is the $2b in tax cuts that they President signed into law for the oil companies.
He better get out his repealing pen~

we agree once again!
yeah, many times when friends from the right say "democratcs just want to take care of the welfare mothers" I would reply, "like the republicans take care of the farmers on welfare?" Some farmers get paid to let their land sit idle....where can I get a job like that?

If the meat packing plants had to pay competitive wages, don't worry, it wouldn't cut into the rich peoples profit, the extra cost would be carried down to you and, the consumers and I'm sure the media would put a spin on a news story about meat having to be inspected for mad cow or something thus driving up the cost of meat at the store rather than just being honest in telling consumers that the rich people refuse to take a profit loss
