Default Border Patrol Agent Arrested In Mexico

Sit down and get ready for this one.

U.S. Border Agent Briefly Held in Mexico
Nov 25 2:09 PM US/Eastern

An off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent was jailed for more than a day after Mexican border officials found 650 rounds of ammunition in his car, authorities said Saturday.

The unidentified agent was arrested Thursday as he entered Mexico at the San Luis Port of Entry in southwest Arizona, and was released late Friday and returned to the United States, Mexican and U.S. authorities said.

Mexican Customs inspectors found a bag containing 650 rounds of .40- caliber ammunition in the agent's 2006 Nissan Altima, Mexican authorities said. Possessing firearms or ammunition in Mexico is illegal and large warning signs are posted at border crossings.

If this wasn't so disgusting it would almost be funny. I wonder how they think all those Mexican cops are getting shot.

The worst part is, it looks like a Border Patrol agent may get fired for breaking a Mexican law that half of Mexico doesn't abide by.

I find this funny because I also have LOTS of ammo in my car all the time. I shoot every week, 200-300 rounds, so it is no big deal for me. If you are a regular shooter, this is common. If you are not it probably sounds like a terrorist plot.
If I was crossing a border I would be carefull, but hell these guys go back, and forth, daily.

Yeah.. but I’m having a hard time findin’ the funny in it.. It's too bad the Mexicans aren't a concerned about their gun toting, drug smuggling coyotes as they are our Border Patrol Agents. If they were, we wouldn't have nearly as many problems on our southern border.

And that is why he probably got arrested, because he was from your side of the border. I don't know enough about American Gun Laws, our's are much more strict, so I can't say too much, but if others care this amount of ammo in their vehicles, why couldn't this guy?

Two things guys, first of all this guy was crossing an international border with signs saying he was wrong and secondly he works as border security, He knew the risk he was taking. I am not saying that the Mexians are gsreat at enforcing their own laws, but since he was an American they decided to look at him harder?

Yeah Rob.. and we are after all supposed to set the standard for obedience to the law, while other countries aren't really even required to abide by the law, right?

Kix, if feel the same as you do. Mexico's lack of law enforcement is well documented. The level of corruption makes the Maifia look like a boys primary Sunday School Class.
