What I'd like to know is with 20 million illegals in this country, why can't the farmers find anyone to pick their crops? Do the illegals think that they are too good to pick crops now? It appears that these illegals have gone from doing the jobs that Americans don't want to doing the jobs that many Americans do want.

I don't have a need for heros. I don't even like the sandwich.

Because they're finding better-paying jobs.

If you hired illegal immigrants to replace your work staff, even if you paid them the exact same wages as before, you'll still save a ton. Employers pay 6.5% of your wages for SS (you pay the other 6.5%...unless the number went up; not sure), they pay unemployment insurance, they pay assorted benefits...

So if you replace an $8.00/hr employee with an $8.00/hr illegal immigrant, you'll save quite a bit of money. Then, if you replace an $8.00/hr employee with a $6.50/hr illegal immigrant...bigger and better savings. Enough savings to pay a crooked accountant and lawyer to handle the paperwork to make you look legit.

That's why the illegal immigrants are filling more popular jobs. And as more and more immigrants sneak across the borders, the law of supply and demand says they're worth less, so the employers' savings just keeps increasing the longer Bush leaves our borders wide open, and the temptation to cheat affects more and more previously-legitimate businesses.

Exactly, but the open border lobby can no longer use the lie that they are just taking those jobs that the lazy Americans won't do.

These figures show why it is cheaper for an unscrupulous employer of illegals to hire illegals. While these employers of illegals get to line their pockets, they are clearly the only ones profiting from this cheap labor. And, overall, this cheap labor is not really cheap because the American taxpayers have to subsidize this illegal labor, with social services for their families, ER medical for their families, education for their families, incarceration, etc., etc.

The solution is to lock up all the people who employ and house the illegals AND seize all the property of the criminals who hired the illegals. When there are no longer criminals willing to employ the illegals they will mostly deport themselves and the remaining ones ICE can handle.

Illegals are the best workers for employers as they get paid a lot less and get few if any benefits. Then the criminals employing the illegals sell their product for the same price and pocketing the difference.

I bet you are one of the people whining about the oil companies gouging, but it is the criminals employing the illegals who are truly gouging the American people, the American workers, and even the illegals.

It would lead us all to believe that Wages and Benefits should be solely left to contracts between Employer and Employee and not between Government and Employer or Union and Employer.

Our very regulation of the economy encourages this. It is time to get Government out of as much of the economy as possible and end the welfare state.
