immigration has been bad policy since 1492!

I read today that the feds are now targeting businesses that knowingly hire illegals. That is a start. I am sorry that our goverment cares more about the fate of illegals than it does our own citizens.

On the other hand if you have proper training and are willing to work you can be successful in this country.

It is not like mexicans are taking the good jobs. Where do most of the work? Farms and Restraunts. If you can't get a better job than that with a high school diploma or GED then I feel sorry for you.

Maybe not, but have you ever seen a nice neighborhood or an apartment complex that they have taken over? They pretty much turn to them slums. I recently revisited an old neighborhood I lived in as a child and was sickend by the site of it. It's a mess to say the least. Not to metion the welfare benifits the counties are shoveling out.

Put yourself in the aliens position. They were probably lived in worse conditions in Mexico or wherever they came from than your situation is right now. It's hard to blame them for wanting to come here. They take all the jobs Americans don't want and they work damn hard. Many of them pay taxes even though they are not citizens. My point is you shouldn't be mad at them. It's more a failure of the Mexican government to keep Mexicans in Mexico and the American government to prevent them from getting in.

I agree with you but why dont they do it the legal way? There are many programs out there that help you become a citizen. And if they lived in worse conditons in Mexico why do they come over here and tear up our towns and our houses. Americans dont want to live like that. They are not over here because of their living conditons. They come over here to make a quick buck. That is why you see 15 mexicans living in one apartment and driving one van. They are trying to save all the money the can so they can go back to their country and live like kings.

I disagree. They get jobs from employers that know they don't know their rights, thus they can pay them less & take advantage of them, as long as it all stays quiet. It can be proved that yes they do & want to work, but not the fact that Americans won't. Most Americans just think they are better, worth more if you say. Wrong yes, but true nonetheless. No one blames them for wanting to be here, I surly don't blame them. But we have pride for our country, as should they.

Well then the honus falls on the government for failing to prevent them crossing the border illegally. As far as payment, there seems to be a false image out there that most Mexicans and laborers are extremely underpaid. That's not the case where I live, because labor is in short supply plus the fact that a majority work extremely hard.

I'm sure most would do it the legal way if they could, but it is simply too expensive. If a person has enough money to legally immigrate to the U.S, then they have enough money to live decently in Mexico so they don't have to leave. Even those who are in the U.S. are still living paycheck to paycheck and generally have no money to spare. People who leave mexico do it because they literally have no other choice. They are living in the most vile of conditions with their families and have no work. I guarantee you that any decent human being would do the same thing these people are doing if they found themselves in similar positions.
