I can't help but chuckle when the "experts" claim global warming is HEATING the water and causing more severe storms. Then, nevermind, we MEAN'T cooling the waters.

The world's preeminent expert on hurricanes, the guy who established the category system and runs the lab out of Colorado that predicts them every year, says hurricane numbers and intensity have nothing whatever to do with water temps, but with ocean salinity.
He also laughs at the idea that the 2005 hurricane season (a piker by any rational measure, anyway) was in any way "unusual" It was, in fact, he says, right on schedule. Hurricanes run in 20-25 years cycles.
