Thousands evacuated ahead of cyclone
"These people know the force of the sea and they're doing the right thing," he said. "Most of them are leaving or have already left."
"Even with the weaker wind speeds, Gonu is believed to be the strongest cyclone to hit the Arabian Peninsula since record keeping started in 1945. A cyclone is the term used for hurricanes in the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific."

Lady, this is indeed good news that some are running from the storm instead of trying to ride it out.

So, why do Americans try to ride it out? My life and my family's lives are more valuable than our physical possessions.

Lady, I agree a human life is worth more than all the possesions you might loose. I think that most Americans will agree with you but some citizens haven't thought for themselves in a while. The goverment is supposed to care for me.

"So, why do Americans try to ride it out?"
>>>Good thrills are hard to come by these days. Approaching hurricanes are actually a good enough reason for some people to party down. If I could be reasonably sure that I wouldn't be swept away, I'd like to try it sometime.

George, you got an open invitation. Next time theres a storm headed to Tampa, c'mon down. We'll get the hurricane preparedness pack ready (plenty of cuban sandwiches, Hooters wings, Jim Beam and a couple bottles of water) and watch all the fun.
Only restriction is no political talk.

George says he lives in AZ...to be honest, I don't think he could handle even a tropical storm.
