The truth is that a hurricane is bigger than any Government agency can plan for. Period. Drop the blame game...either help out however you can or keep your tongue.

Those who chose to stay made a stupid mistake. Who hasn't?

Nothing, not one single thing, The Orleans Parish Levee Board could have done would have prevented a hurricane. Maybe they could have reduced the damage. Maybe they could have made it worse. Maybe. But nobody can say that there's is anything they could have done to guarantee ANYTHING. That's why hurricanes are dangerous.

Would it make you people happy if we played the blame game until enough people's lives were ruined that they balanced out the damage in New Orleans? Is that the mentality here? If some people suffered at the hands of a Natural Disaster, with nobody to blame, then we have to scurry about finding careers to ruin and lives to destroy to extract vengeance against Nature?

I live along the New Madrid Fault. I can't wait till it splits and I can start witch hunting, because the Government has the means to stop an earthquake if they'd quit hating blacks. And the people have the means to stop an earthquake if they'd quit being greedy welfare bums.

The issue is "Stealing Govt. funds that were to be used to build better levees"
If the money were used properly, there would not have been Billion$$$ in flood damage and 7,000 lives lost due to flooding.
The Orleans Parish Levee board reports directly to Mayor Nagin and the Judge wants to know what happened to this money and who stole this money.

The President of the US can not just stroll into a state and take over. That would violate the US Constitution.
That is the reason why the Governor and Mayor have these responsibilities.
