Yeah, and only really, really intelligent people live below sea level, in a city that relies on pumps to keep from flooding, in the best of weather.

The dumbest arguement I've heard is they could not leave. They had a fucking week full of warning, they could have walked out, pushing a wheelchair, or stroller, in that lenght of time.

But you just keep right on ignoring reality.

We drove through NOLA 9 months after Katrina hit. The cemetaries were still dissaray. Again, Nagin and Blaco. But they re-elected him, go figure.

I wasn't complaining. I look at those pictures, and my heart goes out, no matter who is to blame. Dead people floating, sitting in the middle of the street, under the sweltering sun. I imagine the suffering those people endured, and I hope we ALL learn from those mistakes made and lives lost. I hope next time people WILL get the hell out, and I hope the city's leaders will send a stronger message that they must go, and offer every bit of transportation they can to poor people.

You look at those pictures, and say, "Cover up that dead person; my tender sensibilities are offended!"

Gretba was not New Orlerans THEY blocked the bridge. Where were poor wpopel with no money to go? How many buses can you use to move people out under water. This storm was not up to a cat 5 until it was all to late.

You are the one who ignores reality... These people were poor as fuck, perhaps you don't understand that! Some of them wondered how they would eat from one day to the next - glad you have never had worries, but other people have. You should learn to be a little bit more sympathetic! Every way that these people could have left - cost money! You're being ignorant about this....
