Default Katrina is a bonus for Bush corporate cronies

I have relatives in D.C. Research this looting in any right left or ufo journal you wish. This is true. Bill Frist addressed a very high spirited group of 300 corporate lobbyist assembled for the Katrina reconstruction. It was not national news but this summit was big in the minds of the lobbyists. It was held sept. 26,2005 and not in a conference room at some hotel, but only for this administration it was hosted in an office building of the US Senate!! It was a seminar on how to profit off of taxpayers and Katrina and it was held on the very grounds of the institution it intended to plunder with the blessing of the White House. The Shaw Group bagged the first 4 no bid contracts.Edward Badolato(bush cronie) said"Theres lots of money to be made down there"Thanks to his political connections was the sweet contract where he named the price and did not have to bid with other companies to see who could do the job in a timely and least expensive way. Open you checkbooks to antoher "Haliburton" type of contract that only this administration has coveted. The boundries between business and government have all since been erased in 2002. Americans alike are paying taxes they do not even know of to finance these sweet deals for companies that are connected to this administration. Do your research and I know that no one on this forum will like what they find out. I have a direct connection to this situation and all of you rambling on this forum seem to follow only the war or gas prices. there are so many other scandels just below the surface that adds daily to our deficit and waste ALL OF YOUR MONEY. You are all fools and you do not even know it.

LOL I am not idid. You can make up whatever you want to avoid the thread topic I started. The only time you have been right about me is when you said I was not old enough to vote. In 2 months I will be 18 and will be voting in the November elections. I will not be voting partisan lines but watching damn close what each and everyone says and how they have voted.

Research this topic instead of spinning tales to avoid your dreamworld. For everyone on this forum ,it is being read by government, journalists and others.
I hope a bold journalist reads this thread and actually reports the story.

Default Conspiratorial Thinking is a Delusional Mind Game

How is it you think damage is repaired and devastated communities return to normal? Should those in the business of construction not participate? If not them, who will rebuild? Exactly who was "locked out"? Do you envision only one company or group of companies doing all the work? Is this the way day-to-day business functions? How do contractors and sub-contractors get involved? If I were in the construction industry and lived in or near New Orleans or was willing to travel there, would The Shaw Group hire me?

What distresses me is that you think profit is a bad thing. Will you work for nothing?

More distressing is that conspiritorial thinking is your first and only response.

Tell me more about how you think, but please be more articulate. Be careful of name calling.

You are new to this forum but the post was not denying that construction companies should not bid for reconstruction. This issue at hand was if friends of the party in power were able to muscle their way into no bid contracts. There is much already being debated on c span that construction companies are over charging the government and millions are unaccounted for.(I do not know if any of that is related to The Shaw Group.) The point made by the poster was the type of meeting and the company not having to bid but name a price and the company has close ties with this administration. Now that being said it was mostly posed as a question. There have been ridiculous amounts of tax payers money unaccounted for in both iraq(related to Haliburton) and also in Katrina. Of course companies want to make profits but tax payers do not want to buy 15 dollar nails so certain companies can make whilwind profits. I think many Americans are feeling a mistrust of how this administration has handled various issues. Capitalism is great. Outright stealing from the American people is not.

Default The Political Pendulum is Swinging to the Right

The corruption of which you speak is not new, it has plagued our society for centuries; yet the unlearned place blame because their knowledge of history began yesterday.

The lack of understanding in the field of history and especially economics is appalling.

However, even in our current political climate, I believe most Americans support the president and the conservative party, and this point will be proven (again) in November. The feeding frenzy of a biased news media stirs mostly the ignorant. When push comes to shove, most Americans will side with conservatives because conservatism makes sense for the country and the individual.

Okay, before I jump all over this... please define "most". Aww heck, I'll jump anyway. Laru, I think you may need to get out of the house a little more. Maybe venture away from familiar haunts and regular places. But okay, your entitled to your opinion, even if it doesn't reflect reality.

Now I know my opinion of this administration is harsher than most, but... I believe more and more people are catching onto the fact that either this administration is dangerously inept, or criminally motivated. And there are all sorts of numbers backing this up. Trivial little things like public opinion of the very people you claim are in majority support of him.

Also, you will find that most people worth talking to in here, know their history, and we even have a few that have appreciable knowledge in economics. So, if you have an over inflated view of yourself and your IQ, you will find it challenged at every step here, from both sides.

In saner times, I would agree with you. There is just one glaring flaw in that logic this time around. The Republicans stopped acting like responsible conservatives a long time ago. They have abandoned their ideals to follow a president bent on God knows what, into national debt purgatory... well, I think you may be very disappointed come November.

But I get a kick out of your "never say die" attitude and your "don't let facts get in the way" plucky spirit.
