You are just plain weird. 22,000 dead! I'm sure more than the 'Commie military' leaders were killed.
Is this the wrong time to point out that SLORC is not communist.

They make no illusions about what they are, greedy vicious thugs. In a way their honesty is refreshing.

This is a terrible tragedy. Having been to Burma I can only express my sadness that this has occurred.

The Communists are not allowing relief workers and supplies to enter the country. They are in fear of bad influences on their society.
This is Liberal code for "Communists treat their people like zoo animals and hiding this is more important than saving lives"
This sounds just like New Orleans.

I didn't think they were commies, most Military run governments aren't. I was just responding to Mr. Sensitive.

So we shouldn't try to help because their 'leaders' are thugs? It is a Military government, not communist. (so I have been reminded)

Well, yes and no. If we can't make sure our aid is getting through, then it might be better not to do something.

Hard one to call unfortunately. Sad that something that should be so easy can be made complicated to the point where not doing something may actually be better in the long run.

I guess that is true. Maybe with the aid pouring in the government will be pressured to open up a bit.
