Cause was found to be an over heated wheel bearing. The driver (an illegal alien) was acquitted of manslaughter, and the owner of the bus was sentenced to five years of probation on charges of mismanaging his fleet. (plus big fines)

The last I heard about it they do have a plan for the next one, that's if Nagin gets his act together and puts it in motion. Of course there's not nearly as many people living there now, a lot never went back after Katrina.

As a voter, I would have demanded a plan of action be put into action before I voted for him. We'll be driving through NOLA in the middle of June. I like to stop at the French Quarter. We drove through in June 2006, boats were still on the side of the road and the 9th ward looked like a war zone. I hope it's gotten better.  |
