"We must consider how very little history there is; I mean real authentic history. That certain kings reigned, and certain battles were fought, we can depend on as true; but all the coloring, all the philosophy of history is conjecture." -

History is not about 'one group of people confronting another', there is far more trade and coepration in history than confrontation, indeed even war is a form of exchange.

conjecture you say? they are finaly pulling out all the old stationary. like columbus' boast that one 12 yearold virgin on hispanola was worth an entire farm. is it conjecture that poland invaded the checks? how about this conjecture. that the bismark sank the hood. you like that one too? { her 15s would have bounced off the hood's belt, or skipped off her decks. } this was my remark to the historic concept that " history was not political." well hell with that. its the fruitation of politics in every facet of the spectrum.

yes, you were throwing philosophy into the picture. and its through that, that we base our preceptions. but i think its much more simpler. greed. 99% of it was greed.

I would have a tendency to agree with that.
