Jebe, you do know the difference between the A-bomb and the H-bomb, right? Why not develop both? One was a much easier path than the other, but both had to be developed to prevent any surprises down the road. |

Not only was there no test, but that design was never used again. The bomb was shipped to it's destination in two pieces on two different ships if memory serves... It was a can't miss weapon. Not only was it nearly guaranteed to work the first time, it was so touchy, they weren't sure they could make it to the target before it detonated.
I take it this is your point in the train scenario? The problem is... there is no way to hide the facilities for producing the fuel needed for these weapons in a war torn Europe. Germany is roughly the size of michigan. The process for enriching the fuel was quite complicated in the 40's... I just don't see Germany pulling it off in secrecy. Even if it had been secret, it most likely would have been bombed to hell and back by this point in the war. |

Well that doesn't surprise me, cause by that time during the war, Nazi Germany was ready to use nuclear weapons. As they were miles ahead of the allies in this field, what stopped them, don't know. Maybe it had something to do with their US investors.

FFirst off this as been shown as a amm car explosion without any question. Leibensraum look into it. Noobdy had anythign Nuclear in 1944. Atomic Bomb. Look inot.
